Chris Scoggins, owner of Cornerstone Insurance Group, left Liberty Mutual Insurance Company in 1994 to join Highway 58 Insurance as an independent agent.  Two years later he bought the agency, which had been founded in 1972, and continued to build the business through “old-fashioned” determination and hard work.  Proceeding on the basic notion that his customers deserve the very best protection that their dollars could buy, combined with uncompromising service – Chris soon had the opportunity to acquire Morgan Insurance (founded in 1954) in Dayton, TN.

Chris’s father, Mitchell, was eager to come on board and partnered with him in the Dayton office.  There they found many loyal customers and two long-term employees who continue to provide first class service to the Dayton customers.  Mitchell is well-known for his expertise in insuring Churches and has created Church Insurance Specialists, a division of Cornerstone Insurance Group.

In 2002, Cornerstone’s main office moved to its new location on East Brainerd Road with an eye on the future.  Thanks to all of our loyal customers, Chris was able to open a third office in Cleveland TN adding two more  Agents and two Customer Service Representatives.  Because of the positive growth of the company, he was able to contract with additional strong insurance carriers and the result is that Cornerstone Insurance Group now offers even more competitive insurance packages for both personal and business customers.
